Formation of the newest cultural spaces. Participation of the UCCS in the meeting in Sumy
The employees of the Ukrainian Center for Cultural Studies took part in the All-Ukrainian Meeting of Directors of Folk Art Centers "Cultural and creative industries as a key to successful community development", which took place on April 11-13, 2018 in Sumy, on the basis of the Utility enterprise of the Sumy Regional Council - Sumy Regional Scientific and methodical center of culture and arts.
During the meeting, the exhibition "Colorful patterns of Sumy region" was presented, the best samples of Krolevetsweaving, products of the best folk art masters of Sumy region were presented: Easter eggs, Vytynanky (artformofpapercutting), carvings, embroidery. The exhibition "Tree of Life" and methodical developments of the Sumy regional scientific and methodical center of culture and artwere representedas a separate exposition. During the exhibition a workshoponKrolevets weaving was held.
The participants were welcomed by the Head of Regional Policy Department for Strategic Planning and Development under the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Oksana Ionova, the Head of the Cultural Department of Sumy State Administration,OlenaMelnyk and the director of the Sumy Regional Scientific and Methodological Center of Culture and Arts,YevheniaBystrytska.
The demonstration of the"Free Bird" collection by Sumy design studio "ART'elmoda" (the head is LarysaVaneyeva),based on the ornament of Krolevetsweaving, was the bright accentto the openingof the meeting.
IrynaFrenkel, the director of the Ukrainian Center for Cultural Studies, in the report "Culture as an Economic Lever for the Development of Small Territories. The project "Small Cities - Big Impressions" outlined the prospects for the formation of the newest cultural spaces of the united territorial communities, noted that in order to preserve the invaluable heritage of the national culture, it was necessary to establish cooperation between the folk art centers and local government.
YaroslavPetrakov, Director General of the Directorate for Strategic Planning and European Integration under the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, emphasized the meaning of cultural heritageobjectsin shaping economic and investment potential of communitiesin his report "Cultural heritage objects as an instrument of tourist attractiveness of communities".
At the separate session of the meeting, the issues on the peculiarities of the implementation of the basic regulationsof UNESCO’s “Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage”were discussed. The Head of the Research Department of the UCCS, ValentynaTeleutsia presented the algorithm for submission the nominating dossier of the intangible cultural heritage element, promoted to National Register and International Lists. The leading scientific member of UCCS, LiliyaSnigiryovaacquainted with the state of implementation of UNESCO’s “Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage” in the regions of Ukraine. The head of the Cultural Department of Krolevets Regional State Administration Natalia Sira presented a successful work on preservation and popularization of the element "The Krolevets handpicked weaving".
During the practical part of the meeting, the experience of large-scale cultural and art projects implementation as an integral part of the image of any successful community was presented. The meeting participants got acquainted with the authentic Horiun culture.
The result of the All-Ukrainian meeting of Directors of Folk Art Centers was the adoption of resolution that defined the main vectors for the preservation and popularization of folk art, the prospects for the formation of the newest cultural spaces of the united territorial communities, the activity of regional folk art centers and their role in the development of cultural and creative industries.
